According to the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front, 832 out of 1,085 candidates for the National Assembly (NA) deputy election has been chosen in the list of the official election, compared with 500 deputies expected to be elected to the 13th NA.
Among the 832 candidates, 30% are female, 15% are non-Party members and over 15% are of ethnic minority.
Also, according to the initially preliminary statistics, 15 out of 83 self-nominated candidates are chosen in the official election list, of which Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have the highest percentage with four candidates in each city.
It is expected that April 27 will be the deadline to establish and publish the official list of candidates in each constituency. And From May 3-18, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels will organize meetings for candidates contacting with voters to exchange their action programs.
