Coffee export turnover is likely to exceed US$2bln

Vietnam exported 600,000 tons of coffee, earning US$1.1bln in the first six months of the 2011-2011 coffee crop.

According to the Viet Nam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa), the country’s export turnover this year is likely to exceed US$2bln when the current export price of coffee is at a high level (about US$2,430/ton in London).

Luong Van Tu, chairman of Vicofa said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has asked for State administration agencies to recheck the activities of purchasing and exporting farm produce (including coffee) from foreign businesses and representative offices for timely solutions till late April 2011.
