Gold prices decrease by VND300,000 per tael

 

The domestic price of gold dropped by nearly VND300,000 per tael on the morning of January 13 after edging up for two consecutive days.

 

By 11.30am, Thang Long Dragon gold at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company was listed at VND26.87-26.94 million/tael, down by VND230,000/tael compared to the previous morning.

 

Meanwhile, SJC gold at Sai Gon Jewelry Holding Company stood at VND26.78-26.90 million/tael, VND220,000/tael lower than the morning of January 12. In particular, SBJ gold at Sacombank Jewelry Company was transacted at VND26.85-26.89 million/tael, down by VND300,000/tael.

 

Due to the decrease of gold prices, gold stores’ atmosphere became noisier when the amount of gold sold began to increase. In trading floors, gold was listed popular at VND25.67 million/tael, down by VND400,000/tael.

 

In the world’s market, gold prices have fallen sharply because of the recovery of the US dollar. In the New York market, the gold price stood at US$1,128.8 per ounce on January 13, the strongest decrease of gold prices in the last three weeks.

 

In the Asian market, gold prices rose slightly to reach around US$1,130 per ounce.
