As of Jan. 6, lending interest rates in some banks are at the record increase of 18-20% per annum.
Some banks surge mobilization rates at 11.5% per annum for one-month terms, despite the State Bank’s regulation. This move shows that some banks’ demand on cash is very high. Besides, the mobilization interest rates are equivalent to lending rates.
At present, some banks offer lending rates at 17-18% per annum, equaling to the record level of 2008. Notably, the State Bank issued a Circular No.27/2009/TT-NHNN on guiding interest rate support for bodies, individuals.
Explaining about seeking mobilization capital, financial experts said that a regulation banning to use loans of inter-bank market surges pressure of mobilizing capital from banks. Banks’ staff advised clients to borrow capital by the end of 1st quarter of 2010…
The credit growth rate in 2009 was at nearly 38% whilst mobilization capital at 28%. Many banks in the HCMC said that a slow increase of mobilization capital source was from a very tight control of the State Bank. If the situation continues in this year, the shortage of capital in 2010 will be in a tension situation.
