Steel and cement prices to stabilize in 2010

The demand on cement consumption in 2010 will be at 50-51.5 million tons, a 13% rise from 2009. With the estimated quantity, the country’s cement production capacity will satisfy the consumption demand.

In 2009, owing to impacts of the Government’s consumption stimulation policies, the demand on steel and cement consumption rose sharply. About 340,000-350,000 tons of steel were consumed within a month.

In 2010, the demand for the above products will continue increasing but their prices will be stabilized, due to an abundant supply.
